App is a container of your information. To create App, you need to define fields, workflow, action, and so on. For example, you can create a Customer App to manage your customer information.
There are two types of App; Main and Sub App. The difference between these two Apps are shown below.
Attribute | Main App | Sub App |
Access Level | Can set permissions. | Inherited from the parent App. |
Relationship | Can be related to the main and sub App using bind and parent-child relationship. | Related to the main App with parent-child relationship only. |
Display | Shown in the Tabs. | Shown under record details only. |
Owner | Owned by user. | Inherited from parent App. |
The type of App can be considered depending on how it relates to one another. For example, the customer service application has two Apps which is the “Case” main App for case information management and the “Case Assignment” sub App for user support information management.
